Responding to customer demand, McDonald’s has announced that it has become more environmentally friendly, offering recycling opportunities in all of its restaurants.
“We have a responsibility (…) to make changes that will have a significant impact across the globe,” said Francesca DeBaya, a company executive.
McDonald’s, which has the largest restaurant chain in the world, has set itself the goal of delivering packaging exclusively from recyclable or renewable materials by 2025. Currently, half of McDonald’s packaging is recyclable.
The company will also offer recycling in all of its restaurants by 2025, which currently holds only 10%.
McDonald’s had announced last week that it would remove bulk packaging in all its restaurants worldwide.
